I decided to go with my Friend to Vegas and used the Birthday sale to use my miles. Airfare from SJC-LAS each way is $114 the flights changed to $184. I used 5,840 pts vs 7,700 pts on the sale going. On the return I booked the 9:20 PM Flight using credits and it was $64 so for $75 r/t I'm flying to Vegas Tuesday to Tuesday.

Its a fantastic deal!
