KRK and KTW (and other large airports which are designed for transfers) will always drop you off airside when you arrive from Schengen, i.e. you won't need to go through the security. But it may be via a bus rather than a jetbridge. You only need to reclear security at smaller airports which have separated arriving and departing flows because they weren't designed with the expectation that someone would connect there.

However if there's a delay, by the time the bus drops you off in the terminal, the gate for the return flight may already be closed, so even not having to clear security may not help.
At the smaller airports the incoming a/c is the same as the outgoing, so if there is a delay, both are delayed.
I assume that at the larger ones they might have substitute a/c available.
