Sorry if this has been asked before but I could not find it with a search. I have an award flight booked from JFK-DOH on QR and then due to a change of plans I have an onward non-award booking from DOH-MAA (ticketed by Qatar but flown on Indigo) leaving after a layover of 6 hours. These are on 2 separate PNRs. I tried asking the redemption team if they can change my current booking to alter the destination but that wasn't possible.

Qatar has an interline agreement with Indigo for baggage transfer if booked on a single ticket but I don't know about 2 separate tickets. Will I be able to check in my luggage through to MAA at JFK or will I have to recheck them at DOH? Curious if anyone has experience with this before and what I need to do.
