From CX website, it mention that seat selection is free for booking with child below 12

manage to select seats one week ago under manage booking.

today check in open and when I go to manage booking, it say unpaid regular seat and ask me to contact my OTA to make payment for the seat.

so what is happening ? Not sure whether I should do online check in? There is no seat selection fee during online check in right ?
