BA denying compensation on BA2158 27 April 2024
Hi,
Am new to this forum, so apologies if I am not following due process .....
My flight BA2158 from Grenada to London Gatwick arrived over four hours late due to the late arrival of the inbound flight.
When we boarded the flight, one of the attendants told us that the incident was cased by an oxygen cylinder falling onto a persons head who subsequently required medical attention and removal from the flight.
I contacted BA asking for compensation but they refused saying that the delay was due to a medical emergency. (not mentioning the cause)
This seems wrong to me as the medical emergency appears to have been caused by the fact that the oxygen cylinder was not secure, and was able to fall on a person's head - which seems to be the responsibility of the airline.
Is anyone able to offer an opinion and whether I should pursue through CEDR?
Many thanks
