I've packed many bottles with these and have never had an issue. I do make sure that these are wrapped in clothing as well.

Back in the day though, I took a case of six bottles of wine from Alsace onboard in my backpack. As the bottles were quite inexpensive, something like $30 for the six, the US Customs agent let me through without any issues, as any tax collected wouldn't have paid for doing the paperwork.
