BUT...
We cant get to Hong Kong without having to pay $1200+, and I can't seem to find direct flights with Cathay from Vancouver on Avios through BA.com…all options keep forcing the ridiculous option to fly through London with high taxes. So close!
If you can find Cathay flights on AA using points then try calling BA Avios and asking for it.
