Great to hear the details about traveling. We will also be coming from HP Kyoto to HH Kanazawa, although we're pondering a stop in Kaga on the way in. Also will be going to Komatsu airport for a domestic flight, so nice to know about the convenience of the airport bus. Is Shirakawa a must see? I have Natadera Temple and Tedori Gorge on our list of things to do, wonder if I should add Shirakawa. Thanks!
I got the impression from online that Shirakawago is a must see if staying at least two nights in Kanazawa with at least a half day dedicated to it. Since you have those other things to check out which we didn't do, probably 3 nights. I think it was pretty cool, but I probably wouldn't go back. I think I did the shortest round trip based on the bus schedule and it was enough for us. About 1.5 hour bus to there starting at 9:40am, spend 4 hours there, 1.5 hour bus back by 4:30pm.
