TSA pre-check is a membership program allowing access to dedicated security lines offering more streamlined security. It requires an ID number to be added to the booking. Although TK has participated in this program for several years they don't make it simple to add the number. With most airlines you just add it to your online profile and then it's automatically added to the booking. I guess with TK it can only be done at checkin.
