I booked a AKL-LAX one way in mid November 2024. Delta One. The seat map is showing Delta One, Premium Select and Economy ? Does this indicates it is a remodeled plane? Is the Delta One true Delta One? I had a Non Stop United Polaris that has been canceled and they are rerouting me from San Francisco - I rather take a non stop. The other option is Air New Zealand Business. My Delta fare is refundable and the Air New Zealand is less expensive. Would Welcome suggestions and seat preference on this configuration on Delta One. So far I have only flown Delta One to CDG and it was fine.
They are using direct delivered DL A350-900s on AKL-LAX which have 1-2-1 D1 suites config as below. The ex-LA A350s haven't been refurbed yet and still have 2-2-2 config in D1, but are not currently flying AKL-LAX route. DL considers both "true" D1, but one is considered a "suite" due to a door and the other is not.
The ex-LA A350s D1 config will show as following and the window seats don't have direct aisle access.
