I'll be connecting at LAX on separate tickets with 2 young kids.

YYZ-LAX on AC
LAX-ICN on OZ
6.5hr layover

Looks like AC is T6.

From what I read AC won't check thru luggage to another airline on separate tickets even if they have agreement in place.

Questions:
1. With separate tickets I'm assuming I'll have to go landside > pick up bags > re-check-in > and re-clear security.
2. Do I have to bring bags with me to TBIT, or I can somehow drop off bags at T6?
3. With luggage + 2 kids, is the best way to get to TBIT walking?
4. Anyone know how early OZ opens bag drop at TBIT?
5. OZ is in J. Are there priority security lines at TBIT?
