eBay has excellent protection for buyers. All you have to do is claim "item not as described" and eBay will force the seller to take it back and refund you. There's really no reason to file a chargeback.
Seller "protection" is a different story...
I'm guessing this comes down to the fees Amex charges. It will be interesting to see if either side blinks.
