Called and no luck. At first they stated that I would need to pay the fare difference and a change fee (basic economy tickets). That would have been more than double what I paid for the tickets a few days ago. Asked if a supervisor could make an exception. Put on hold. Willing to waive the change fee, but not the difference in ticket price. Seattle is not an alternative airport. There basically is no alternative airport to Vancouver that would offer direct flights to Paris.

What I'm wondering, since Air France is the one operating the airplane, could I try to call them and get the flights changed on their end? I didn't buy the tickets from AF, but am flying on their planes. And there are direct flights out of Seattle on AF.

I can get a flight out of Vancouver on Saturday, but that would involve a connection in Seattle. If that ends up being my only option, I might just hold off on making any changes for a bit. There tends to be cheap flights that have connections and right now, my basic economy tickets are refundable due to the significant change.
