Intra European business class is all about the soft product, not the hard product. You get to skip lines at the airport (well, most of the time, my experience is that both priority check-in and priority security are usually no wait or very little wait at European airports, while economy can be a zoo), get to access the lounge, and get some food on board.
Personally I wouldn't pay extra 250€ for it. Apart from the BA, which as mentioned upthread has a slightly different strategy, most airlines don't sell many point to point tickets in European business. It mostly exists for connecting passengers.
