On the car issue – I agree it is useful if you plan to explore the area. I just wanted to flag that drink and driving laws are becoming increasingly strict in Argentina, with zero-tolerance regimes in place in many provinces including Rio Negro (where BRC is located) and in all national roads. Zero tolerance means no alcohol, nada, not even a beer. Police checks are frequent and sanctions are enforced (including seizing the car and your drivers license). Factor that into any plans and use Ubers and taxis if you want to go out for dinner.
