I input a flight jfk-yul that is 333 miles, included a 167 mile flight bonus (bringing it up to the 500 mile minimum), I'm platinum so I get 100% bonus on the 500 mile minute. Redeemable miles keep coming out as 833 (actual base miles plus 500 mile bonus) - shouldn't the redeemable miles include the 167 bous miles, with a total of 1000 redeemable miles?
You're right - it's doing what I think it should.
Assuming you're Plat from 1/1/05, you'd need to set that. You can do that in the Elite Status Section. As a plat, you should set D11, 12, and 13 to 1/1/05. It'll check for the highest possible status on any given date. If you set your status in this way, your elite bonus will show up in column G ("Elite Bonus").
The example I used to test was my own mileage BNA-ORD, which is 409 miles. Flown in coach, this yields 500 miles without any elite bonus. Flown in F, it yields 614 miles (409+50% bonus). What I don't have is any elite data to test with, since I am not yet any sort of elite on AA. The way I assumed this would work is to give the base of 409 miles plus the 500 mile elite bonus for a total of 909. I'm guessing that's not right? If you're a plat, is the minimum for any segment 1,000 redeemable miles?
Given this, I'm also not sure about COS bonus. Would a Plat in the above example get 1,114 miles? EDIT: I think this is right, so I made the change and uploaded a new version. I'll have more data on this once I make Plat on the challenge. Alternately, if someone has some sample elite data with hops of less than 500 flight miles, that would help as well.
Let me know if that's right and I'll correct the sheet.
