I was able to purchase YYZ-HKG(stopover)-OKA, NRT-HKG(stopover)-YYZ on CX website, in J also.

I remembered the website giving me an error when on my return leg I had to book a connection in HKG. (see this thread: Cathay Online Booking Fail)

Eventually my travel plans changed and I needed a stopover in HKG on the return leg as well, and was able to book online successfully. Total price around $7400.
