I'm wondering if it's a cost thing. The cost of maintaining a physical system, repairing ones that break, offering compensation to passengers for an inoperable system, etc?

I really don't like the idea of removing them. For a short 1hr or so trip I'm not so concerned, but anything longer I think it's not a great idea.
Like I said in a previous post, I like to follow along with the Flight Map, and losing this is a negative for me.
