Say if I am booked in I class, but PEK-HKG doesn't have I class fare, would they just apply the lowest one way fare in business or if the flight was fully booked to J fare, would they just use J fare for calculation? The difference could be huge and in most case, either option will likely wipe out the original fare you paid
