I average one stay a month here and I'm surprised at your experiences regarding elite recognition but definitely not surprised at how inconsistent they are!

I do think it's crazy that they're branded as an airport hotel, not because of proximity to the airport nor the travel time taken, but only because the shuttle takes an inferior, slow route to get to the property, rather than the faster, yet farther freeway. It's about a 7-minute detour to traverse the airport perimeter rather than using the freeway that I usually take when I drive in to this property.

The breakfast is the one thing I dread every time I stay but I don't have time to hunt for alternatives (I guess I could schedule food delivery for 6AM?). The eggs come with cheese by default, which I don't mind, but for some reason, it tastes awful. The yogurt and salad dressing(???) is definitely left out overnight. Honestly, I only eat the cherry tomatoes and oatmeal whenever I'm here. I've never had a problem getting my breakfast vouchers accepted, though.

Sometimes they give weird perks for checking in, like a free drink, or an appetizer in the restaurant, but it'll disappear the month after! I find it wildly inconsistent and the front desk rotates so often that it's a new face that can't explain why, but since it's not a Titanium Elite benefit I won't complain that much.

If you're driving in, there's an uncontrolled intersection next to the property on the internal road network (sharing with the fast food and sit-down restaurants nearby). Be aware of this or risk a car crash. Us Albertans don't do very well with uncontrolled intersections, even if they're defined in law and driver training.
