I've seen worse in the Concorde Room. A server dropped a champagne stopper on the floor, and just put it back into the champagne bottle. I mentioned it to a manager, who was horrified and asked me to identify the bottle, and corrected it. The manager also instructed the server on what to do in the future.
Really? You complained about a stopper falling on the floor?! I used to work in restaurants and the number of times a chef would drop a steak on the floor, pick it up, give it a quick fire, serve. I remember once an entire battered fish fell on the floor, picked up, fixed, served. The worst was a portion of lasagne. Last one, dropped on the floor. Literally scrapped off the floor and served.
And this was a really half-decent hotel restaurant too. Most people have no clue what goes on.
