Indeed BA are still using wet-lease aircraft on a daily basis, not to mention the reasonably frequent cancellation of short-haul flights due to sporadic shortages of working aircraft.
Still, BA is a business and IAG (and its shareholders) will force it to run as tight a ship as possible, even if that means the occasional cancellation or wet-lease substitution. It's probably seen as the cheaper option all round.
