Sorry to say but i would not at all be comfortable with a 60 minute connection. Im not sure that's even legal. Are you a US or foreign passport holder? You've got that to deal with. It took me nearly 40 minutes of time just to reclear security at JFK last time I came through - and that was in MARCH. I had no baggage to recheck.
