6 years without an update. Let's fix that. I stayed there one night a couple weeks ago after a late arrival into YYC after being drawn in by a relatively cheap corporate code. I forget what it was in loonie bucks, $110-115, something like that, but was $87 inclusive of taxes per my CC.
The shuttle runs late and picked us up at about midnight outside domestic arrivals, and the shuttle is shared with the Element which is next door. Because of this they're pretty specific on the number of people and bags, since the shuttle was full once we hopped in.
Also, are you really an airport hotel when you're closer to downtown than the terminal? I guess they do have a free airport shuttle, but the 4P is south of the southernmost part of the airport property and it's a good 10-15 minute drive from the terminal to the hotel. That said, the room was fine, it was actually more upscale than I expected with a nice faux leather headboard for the bed. I took a peek at the breakfast, and between the buffet looking completely unappetizing and the front desk staff seemingly unable to understand the option of switching from points to breakfast as a Platinum (I had this convo before I realized how crappy the buffet was), I just decided to nope out of that discussion and the gf and I found food at Tim Hortons, which conveniently is walking distance across the parking lot. The server in the restaurant also had no idea how the Plat breakfast benefit worked, it's as if she didn't even understand that the restaurant was in a hotel. As noted above, the hotel has underground parking and plenty of surface lot space (all free).
A solid 2 Point. I'd stay here again given an appropriate discount vs. the other airport properties, or if I desperately needed the Marriott night.
