Stay completed mid May as Diamond.

First time in Hiroshima. Kept debating between this or the Sheraton. This one for the newness and lower rate vs. Sheraton that had better location right near the station. I kept thinking the Hilton basically required a taxi to get to with carry on luggage, but in the end worried for nothing since the bus was enough and generally ran on schedule. Wanted to avoid getting into a crowded bus with my luggage, but it was a Sunday afternoon and a short 5-10 minute ride to the hotel. Probably should've booked with cash given the rate, but still used points. Upgraded to exec room only. Room was pretty nice and spacious. Lounge was good and wasn't overly crowded during happy hour. Nearly all tables taken, but not all seats. Food was enough for dinner replacement if not too hungry. Breakfast at the restaurant was good. Large area with good mix of Japanese and Western.

Location is...good overall. Walking distance to the memorial park area and then the surrounding shopping/eating areas between there and back to the hotel. Basically just sort of inconvenient if you need to take the train, but it's not that bad.

Great value if booking with cash. Not bad with points depending on how much you had to spend.
