She was also pouring a basic Lanson champagne and the passengers were seated in what would now be premium economy seats. The male passenger is wearing a suit and tie and his wife a nice blue frock , again with a string of pearls, albeit slightly twisted as the clasp is visible.
That looks like the Training School for First Class as used to be in times gone by. What you do not show in your picture is that there is what I think is an instructor watching her. Those uniforms were not well loved - indeed I wore one myself. I could say a lot at this point, but prefer not to do so. Why you should worry about her hair is beyond me. This is clearly a publicity photo and for all I know she may have arrived on a pouring wet day and had to run around the car park. She may not have had access to a hairdryer and that may not have been her uniform. We will never know. I just hope that she never reads this.

All that I will say is that BA paid great attention to "grooming" - make up had to be to a certain standard and indeed when that uniform was introduced ladies were advised that platinum jewellery looked best.

I wonder if you would have made the same comments had she been a man.Have you never had a bad hair day? Why do you think I have a well known hairbrush always to hand?
