Location: It's on the Monsignor O'Brien Hwy, a major surface street into Boston. Expect traffic, heavy at times during rush hours. The property is squeezed between the Hwy and train tracks. Last time I was in Cambridge (pre-pandemic), there wasn't much in the immediate area. You might find the one off neighborhood dining option closer, but it'll be limited. You'll also find some stuff near the courthouse (3rd and Cambridge St). The closest area with numerous dining options is probably Kendall Square (10 minute walk). My old lunchtime regular spot was Kendall House of Pizza (3rd and Charles).
Transit: It's a short walk to Lechmere Station on the Green Line. That'll take you into downtown Boston (Garden, Faneuil Hall, North End, etc), and further. The walk to Kendall Square will get you to the Red Line that will take you to Harvard Sq. or Boston (Beacon Hill, the Common). With the relocation of Lechmere Station closer to the hotel, it's actually not a bad option if you're looking to save money. The trade off is the location is not all that desirable.
As for the property, I can't remember if I've ever stayed there. Others will have to weigh in for specifics.
