They've been doing this for ages, not just BA. The easiest way to avoid them is to open the "who can reply" options at the bottom of the tweet window and pick "only accounts you mention"
That's a good way, but not perfect. A scammer can still quote the tweet. It's happening on facebook also with lots of fake pages for celebs. Page owners report them and facebook does nothing. I won't buy anything following a facebook ad because there is so much fakery about and FB is very keen to take their money for sponsored posts regardless.
