I guess that they don't expect kids in business but that would mean that we get 2X the middle seats, which is what we want. We flew DCA-ORD-CPH two years ago and booked it within a week or so, so there was no discount business. So we got Plus and did the upgrade.There weren't any seats together whatsoever. The outsource girls at check-in, who mostly focused on filing their fingernails, couldn't do anything but I found a helpful Polish guy at the gate who got us two seats in the middle and then 1A plus the adjacent midldle. The guy adjacent gladly swapped for the window.
I thought you are flying in Y. It's easier to swap seats in C because they are all nice seats and there is no middle seats. If your kids ended up sitting in row 8, ask the nice people to swap with you - especially if you are able to get row 1. Also they won't let 2 kids take their own row so they need to be with an adult.
It is totally up to you whether you want to pay the extra for certainly - this is what SK is hoping people to do.
