Fuel surcharge refund
Anyone her has a clue if fuel surcharge would be treated as a separate component when calculating the refund?
Assume the breakdown for my flight from PEK-HKG-NRT, and no no-show of any kind
Base fare: $1000
Fuel surcharge: $200 (assume $100 for each segment)
Tax: $200
Cancellation fee: $200 (assume $100 for each segment)
Assume I only fly PEK-HKG and then request an refund before the next segment, and CX comes up with a calculation of $1500 for the PEK-HKG to be deducted. Will I still receive the refund of the fuel surcharge and tax for the unused segment, that is $200 or something close to that?
I got different answers whenever I ask CX, but a full refund of the tax is the only consistent answer. One said the fuel surcharge portion will be used to deduct $1500 along with the base fare, but another said part of the fuel surchage would be refunded.
I miss the old days where you can speak with someone at the ticketing directly and they are way more knowledgable. Once again, the Manila call centre surprised me on their rockbottom downside.
