I used CLEAR at SFO’s Intl G gate checkpoint about forty five minutes ago and experienced a new thing I haven’t seen anywhere else. After being scanned in by the line guard, and scanning my BP at the kiosk, it asked if I wanted to share my digital ID with TSA (technically the private security company, not TSA) and simply said agree or disagree. The agent didn’t explain why I would want to or wouldn’t want to, so I said no. She then said it meant I had to show my ID to the security “worker”. This wasn’t a big deal, but a minor annoyance she couldn’t have explained it beforehand.
I’m assuming those who are local can explain why this takes place— I’m guessing something to do with CA, but unsure.
