As to JetBlue selling you a ticket while outside of US, sure, they are happy to sell it since there are many tourists arriving in US every day, and it's a big country whey you pretty much need to fly if you want to see much of it. Apples / Oranges when it comes to buying an airline ticket and getting a CC.
IMHO you need a US address (it can be with a relative as some expats do from what I am told / read about) and most likely some sort of credit history.
And I am not really sure why you are worried about a hit to your credit score: if they approve you, no problem other than a temporary reduction, and if you are rejected, then the potential reduction also does not have any consequence, as you are unlikely to be approved by another bank (IMHO).
I never mentioned I have a Jetblue credit card? I mentioned I only have 1 credit card and that is a bank of america worldpoints credit card only and that is the only credit card I had for like 20 years. Yes I have a US check account for over 20 years already. One of them is obviously bank of america.
Yes I have purchased jetblue tickets from outside the US to come back the US. I done this many times as I usually book 1 way flights each time. That isn't related to what I'm asking here. I thought there might be an issue if I apply for the jetblue credit card while abroad which would show a non US ip address. But that should never be the issue right? Everytime I book a flight from outside the US back to the US, there always seem to be an offer at the top where it say apply for the jetblue plus card and get 250 dollars and 15000 travel points or something like that? I then just ignore it. But when I notice you get free checked bag, that seems like a huge perk since just flying a roundtrip or two 1 way flights with that 5000 points you get back means it pays for itself just like that?
I have a US address. I have any banking and any important documents sent to my US address. I am not sure why you asking me these things. I mentioned I am an American so I would have thought most here would assume even though I travel outside the US, that I do have a US address and I do have a US bank account. I was not sure why would you would even ask me if I have a US bank account when I mentioned I already have a bank of america worldpoints credit card for almost 20 years already. The thing is I never applied for a credit card ever since way back in the day and only have 1 credit card. I am self employed and have low income and not like most people who have a regular job and at least average income so that is why I ask these questions about credit score and all this.
