The refrig is overheated and useless, the bathroom is tiny but hey - there is a huge flat screen that I don’t need. No space for luggage and the AC is very slow to cool down the room. In USA this would maybe pass for a 3* but I’ve had holiday inn rooms that are larger. Location was a strong selling point but our driver told us it is a hike from everything. On the plus side the room faces the square but is quiet.
Wish I had checked the photos more closely as the Academia looks like the quality level we should have booked. Or maybe just stuck with my old standby the Intercon. Unfortunately we prepaid but does not seem worth E200 x 2 rooms and now stuck here for 3 nights
I stayed here last month and had no issues whatsoever and I would stay there again. The room size is common for non-luxury hotel chains in Europe. I did not have an issue with that. Our fridge was fine, so it was probably just the one in your room. We didn't need the AC, so I can't comment on that. Again, the bathroom size was typical for Europe. I disagree on the location comment also. It is literally across the street from a Metro stop and the Acropolis was a twenty minute walk away. I thought that the location was fantastic.

Our stay was pre-cruise also and I had no issues here and I would stay here again if I return to Athens.
