I did Iryo from Barcelona to Madrid. Nice trains and the first class upgrade was cheap. Food and wine included. I had the same luggage you had and it fit nicely.
Actually, misremembered. You can take the A30 bus to Sants train or you would have to do a switch on the metro. L9S to L1 if you arrive at T1. Sorry about that.
