I noticed same as OP and had similar reaction.

Annoying, as I don't have 100pct success with OLCI every time. Beyond the occasional tech issue, I particularly have been unable to OLCI HKG to Taipei since post COVID. They changed the online input flow for info collection / visas etc. some time back and for whatever reason now, my situation - visa free, foreign passport, HKG pr, long name , anything else? - always fails me at OLCI (it worked previously). Never any issue at the desk. Return to HK, OLCI work fine.

I recently had another issue at PVG earlier this year and was unable to OLCI. In that case I arrived right around 60 minutes.

I don't always show up less than 60 mins in advance but "more often than not" I do, and if OLCI failed for whatever reason that would suck.
