Last week I flew GVA-LHR-MIA in business (J class for the first leg, I class for the second, BA metal and ticket stock, AAdvantage number applied to credit to AA). Total paid was $2,760, but it was done via a corporate travel agency so I don't know what was fare+carrier imposed fees as opposed to government fees. However, it appears government-imposed is only around $50 on that route. I'm platinum and was expecting around 20,000 miles/LP to post.

They posted today, and I received 10,748. AA's site says the method for posting was distance. My understanding, given that that was both booked and flown in 2024, is that this should have posted as fare-based.

Am I missing something here? Is there any reason this trip should post based on distance? Trying to figure out how strong of a case I have to argue for AA to change this, since I'm thinking I was shortchanged pretty badly.
