Given reports further up saying this rule wasn't in place last Thurs or even Fri, one can only assume that it came in force first day of June.
Cannot name a single other lounge in the world that does this - AirNZ chasing down more great precedents. Instead of the licensee on the premises employing straightforward protocols to identify intoxicated pax taking advantage, a stupid and blanket rule gets introduced, that annoys folks with companions. At the same time, endless supplies of wine sits on the counters for help yourself. This will be to save $$$, one hundred percent.
