So, I have to say...I'd give the Rio a B-. It isn't a bad hotel, but (1) it suffers from being in Las Vegas (Vegas and I have never meshed well) and from sprawling a bit much and (2) there are some weird quirks, like the pool closing at 6 PM (which is kind-of glaring considering that it's still over 100 at that time of day) and no room service except at breakfast.
That said, I don't mind the big-enough-to-live-in-for-a-few-weeks room I drew, and coming in under $200 for three nights is a steal.
I would say the vast majority of pools in Vegas close at 6pm. Why? Who knows. So I wouldn’t fault Rio on that as it’s the norm.
I’m not sure anyone wants Room Service at Rio anyways. It would be like ordering it at Excalibur, just not a good idea or pleasant experience for anyone.
Not sure I’d call it a
steal as in previous months people were staying 3 nights for under $60 plus getting 4,500 points.
($19 Rate + 3k per 3 nights March/April promo + New Hotel promo 500 points per night in April through end of June).
A lucky few also were fortunate enough to even find a 3,000 points per night rate to stack with the other 2 offers too. Now that’s a
steal!
