But that's not what it was designed to do. It was designed to bring in more Marriott guests to MGM properties (so that they can gamble and spend $$) while bringing in incremental revenue to Marriott through cash bookings on their reservation platform. The issue is - if the current setup isn't enough to entice Marriott guests (or maximize it's potential), then it's not doing exactly what it was designed to do.
We'll know in a year on it's true success after they have a full years bookings in place. I can tell you though it's caused me to stay at MGM hotels exponentially less than last year, and if I do stay at them, it's under a direct booking with MGM and not at Marriott's inflated pricing.
