BTW, if the conference rooms in there are no longer used, can't they convert them into additional seating areas? I still don't know why they didn't put a club in E when they did the build-out a decade, or so, ago. Also, isn't AA eventually going to take over all of the original A concourse? Is there space there to also put a lounge? It's odd that DFW has 5 ACs plus a FL. While CLT (AA's second largest hub) only has 2 ACs.
Here ya go...From the
https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/amer...ke-clt-so-much topic. This CLT club topic had been pretty dead until March this year when someone posted how much they disliked the C/D club there and it got active again. All the other discussions about the CLT clubs are in the other CLT topics here, kind of scattered around.
I gave details I'd found on the upcoming new CLT Admirals Club are in the CLT topic called:
Why do people dislike CLT so much?
This was the reply there with new club plans I mentioned:
https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/36206404-post179.html and linked back to a blogger who posted parts of the design plans document that have been submitted to CLT. CLT moved the submittal somewhere but the internet lives forever, so you can find the original plans at
this link.
Basically everything that is currently the existing C/D club becomes retail space, and CLT builds a new structure upstairs with huge capacity increase for "an airline club" without saying it's AA. But of course we all know which airline it's for!
Unclear if it'll also have a Flagship Lounge, showers for both the AC (and the possible FL), and
completely unclear by everyone involved when it will even begin. CLT has a lot of other projects on their plate before they get to this (very important) one. The renderings we have seen give me vibes from Miami-D30- AC/FL, but that's just me and wishful thinking perhaps. The document is called "Atrium and D-E Connector (DECO) Circulation and Concessions Programming Distribution Analysis." The "THOUGHT LEADER" in credit card shilling blogs
posted about it too with a few renderings. There are many more in the actual consultant submission that's more than 300 pages long (happy reading! It covers a lot more than just the new club: it's all about a new D/E connector, new retail program, phasing how this all happens, etc.).
This all came to light March 2023. TBH this is definitely the right CLT topic for it to be in, until it get's broken out to a new one once there's more clear understanding of the schedule. Given AA is currently doing some significant renovations in the existing C/D club to add more something TBD within the existing footprint, and did absolutely nothing but fire code updates when the club was closed for 6 months recently, I'd say AA being as frugal as they are would not spend a nickel in the current club if there was a chance the new club was likely to happen in the short term.
Too Long Didn't Read:
A bunch of info from another FT topic about the new club planned to replace the C/D club...Schedule: who the heck knows when!.
