I'm surprised Vinpearl 81 hasn't been mentioned. It's the best Marriott property in Saigon outside of the location, which is still in District 1, but outside of the center.
Vinpearl Landmark 81 is in Binh Thanh District; albeit, the southern part of the district and not at all far from downtown, but it's not in District 1.

Out of the three other hotels located close to one another, I would rank LM second. Both the Sheraton and Ren are a little too outdated for my taste.
I've stayed at all of them, and both LM and Landmark 81 within the last three months. For me, Landmark 81 is a close second to LM. Club Lounge-wise, which is important to me, it's a dead-heat race and I haven't yet decided which provides a better overall Club Lounge experience. Both are truly excellent. Restaurant breakfast is also close. But I found Landmark 81's rooms too small and I strongly dislike the bathrooms.
