Having been in both CLT and DFW many times, I’ve gotta say that it feels like CLT has 1/2 the square footage of DFW? Less? DFW seems to be a much more massive airport.
I think CLT's problem is that all terminals are connected to each other. Whereas DFW and ATL (the only airline hubs in the U.S. larger than CLT) are separated and connected by a train-system. It's going to be a long walk from one of those B or C extensions to the E gates. Also, it would be nice if they built an underground walkway between B and C when they do the build outs. It would greatly reduce the amount of foot traffic in the B and C corridors,
