The restaurant ratings have been around for over 100 years. Give it some time and I suspect, hope, it will get better.
I think the other huge difference is that in general you get similar experiences at a restaurant. Most highly rated restaurants only have one tasting menu. So the experience is more consistent no matter who you are or when you go. That’s clearly not true with hotels where there could be a huge difference in rooms and experiences depending on the room type you book. It would be helpful to understand a bit more on their criteria.
