Tagging onto this thread; I'm considering doing an overnight trip to Zaragoza next February and would appreciate some advice as I plan my trip.

Zaragoza would likely be my first night in Spain after flying in from NYC; is there any benefit to flying into MAD or BCN as far as travel options to get to Zaragoza? I'm thinking the high-speed train would be my best option. My destination after Zaragoza would be Barcelona so I'll almost certainly be taking the train.

As far as train operators (Renfe, Iryo, Ouigo and Avlo as mentioned above), are there any differences I should be aware of? I'll likely be travelling with a US-sized rollaboard and backpack. All things being roughly equal price and schedule-wise, I'd favor comfort and reliability of operation. Assigned seating and quiet cars would be a plus.

Thanks.
