I came across this discussion on drone restriction while I was already on my trip and a few days from my stopover in Doha. I looked around online and couldn't find any discussion on drone deposits at the airport or even drones being confiscated. Since I already had my drone, and there are no signs at customs specifically stating drone is banned or needed to be declared, I went through with it and customs did not say anything. I had two bag scans and it was not flagged or questioned. Of course, I did not fly it in Qatar or even take it out of my bag. My experience of drones not being confiscated at customs seems similar to others online, However, if I am traveling with a drone in the future, I would avoid a stopover unless I know Doha airport has lockers or storage where I can conveniently leave it while in the country.
