Car seat for an infant traveling in her own seat mandatory?
Hi all,
this will be the first time for me flying long haul myself with my 17 month old baby (we’ve done plenty of long haul flights with her before, but have always been 2 parents traveling together), and we usually fly in business class, so don’t book a separate seat for her.
For this trip I’ve decided to travel in economy and buy her a separate seat, so it’s essentially a child fare for an infant. I’ve just been told by an agent on online chat that a car seat is mandatory for her if she is in her own seat.
I have never seen a child in a car seat on QR, and my baby is not used to being in a car seat(we never travel by car).
I’ve tried to check on QR website, but the wording is ambiguous. Does anyone have any experience with this?
also, for reference, the first flight is actually in CX leased plane in premium economy seats; which I don’t think allow for a car seat as they have an airbag? Does this mean we will loose our premium economy seats and will be moved to somewhere in economy section?
