Kyoto/Osaka Day 3
Unfortunately writing this segment from the ANA lounge in as we head home. I’m about four days behind in my TR but hoping to catch up soon.
We started our last full day in Kyoto by promptly leaving Kyoto and heading via local train to Osaka. In Kyoto we started with a breakfast of champions.

I always enjoy being at the front or back of a train for the views.

We started with a touristy snack in Dotonbori. It was delicious but piping hot.

After our snack we had a fairly disappointing ramen for lunch.

The portion was huge but not quite as big as it looks.

We headed towards Osaka castle but first had a nice coffee stop.

We did Osaka castle inspired by watching Shogun, I’m sure there will be hoards of Americans doing the same soon.

After the castle we explored some more before heading to a food tour we booked in advance.

I’ll let the pictures do the talking from our food tour.

We enjoyed the tour and ended up stuffed full of good food. The highlight of the tour was a local whiskey bar, and we also tried Sting Ray.
Osaka was a good change of pace, and while it’s maybe not a must in Japan it’s definitely enjoyable. I am sure we only scratched the surface of what it has to offer!
