great report and pics. Certain significant changes have happened since your photos in the C/D lounge.
- The main seating areas are the same, but the reception area has moved 180 around to open up the former reception desk area into what is likely going to be (badly needed) additional seating. It was under major construction as you first walk in when i was recently there. Floors covered with temporary coverings, walls covered to avoid scratches from equipment, and the entire former check in desk area roped off while the floor gets redone.
- Other changes are the food upgrades seem to have arrived, or at least in the process of being rolled out. Their were a ton of cold foot long sliced sandwiches in several varieties like roast beef, turkey, etc. And other warm entrees and snacks, along with the "older" snacks in your photos. They are definitely transitioning to a new regional cuisine menu as many of the other clubs have. The interim food during the "kitchen is closed for renovation" consisted of tons of packaged vending machine type snacks and various sandwiches and wraps packaged as "grab and go" have "up and gone."
- I didn't use the bar area, but the time before this, the bar was under renovation, so there are perhaps some changes in that room.
- The last change is the entire left side of the club...all of the nooks and cubby areas, perhaps what were once carrels and conference rooms, are boarded up with temporary blockades. Something new is obviously coming there, too, and has been in progress for at least 6 months.
My friends with CLT do not know when the new AA club will be built upstairs; that tells me it's at least 3-5 years away from opening since they don't even know a start date for this major interior multi-level construction will take place for the expanded CLT C/D club that will HOPEFULLY have a Flagship Lounge. Since the current club will no longer be a club, I certainly hope showers get built in both the replacement Admirals Club and of course, if there will be a Flagship Lounge as well. I think it's a safe bet if the new lounge does have the FL as part of it.
