Are you sure that was J and not F? Their latest J menu for HND-JFK shows no soup and fewer dessert choices than pre COVID. Or maybe your colleague's soup was from the a la carte (anytime service) menu?

But in any case, still far better than Polaris. And the notion of any JL or NH FA skipping any part of the meal service just because they don't feel like doing it would be unthinkable. It would never happen.
