Had an absolutely excellent stay at the W South Beach. Staff here went above and beyond in every aspect - one of the best experiences as an Ambassador I've had at any hotel. Was assigned a W Insider before I arrived who was excellent - emailed before arrival, texted several times when I was staying, our 4pm late check out was initially only granted until 2pm, she managed to push it back to 4pm. Ashley was just amazing. Was upgraded two days before arrival from a Spectacular Studio to a Fantastic Suite for the entire stay.
We are late sleepers on vacation and several times missed housekeeping - just texted using the Bonvoy app and the room was refreshed. They sent an email each time we missed housekeeping to let us know (which was amazingly helpful - we knew we had missed and could ask for a refresh). There was an elite cocktail hour the Monday we were there and we got an email invitation to that - just the level of communication from the staff was outstanding to set expectations and take care of issues.
Loved the pool area - great drinks (overpriced - but normal for Miami Beach) and just a very chill vibe - I expected it to be much more "unce unce unce" cluby, but it was really chill. House restaurant is good - nothing stellar, but solid. I really loved Mr. Chow - it was, as noted, astronomically expensive, but service was fantastic (we got glasses of champagne to kick off an anniversary dinner - the waiter immediately noticed the bottle was flat, refused to serve it, and opened a new bottle - I know this should be the norm, but sadly I've been to too many places that would have just tried to pass off the flat champagne).
Overall a great stay and really some of the best service I've had at a Marriott in a long time. I know we love to complain about the elite experience in the U.S. compared to Europe and Asia, but this was top notch.
